Erin Horvath

Dance Instructor – Certified Acrobatic Arts

Erin began dancing at age six and over the years has studied highland dance, ballet, musical theater, contact improv. , swing, west coast swing, and ballroom (International Standard). She was very involved in competitive highland dance and, as a teenager, earned her associate teachers certification through Scot Dance Canada. Erin enjoyed putting her dance skills to use in musical theatre which included being a touring member of the Canada East Theatre Company. As a young adult she began to combine her artistic skills with storytelling which opened a whole new world of possibilities as she took on the challenge of addressing various social issues through dance, collaborative storytelling, theatre and film.
In her teaching and choreography Erin draws on her eclectic dance interests, passion for storytelling, theatre, and acrobatics to create exciting performances that not only engage audiences, but also engage dancers as co-creators! She is certified with Acrobatic Arts, an internationally recognized curriculum endorsed by leading circus schools/companies including Cirque De’ Soleil, and has her level 1 coaching certification through Gymnastics Canada. For the past 3 years she has led the Acro program for The Dance Project, growing the program from a handful of dancers to over 35. She is excited to be joining JJ Dance and looks forward to collaborating with everyone to create an amazing dance season!
